Rosslyn – Nissan has upgraded its Patrol Station Wagon 3.0 TD 4x4 GL with additional luxury features.

The Patrol gains a new leather interior and power front seats. The interior also benefits from brushed aluminium and wood grain trim.

Equipment upgrade

The infotainment system has a six-disc in-dash CD changer with full colour satnav. The GL gains dual aircon.

Graeme Birch, Nissan SA marketing general manager, said: “Competitor offerings in this very technical segment of the off-road market have always created the impression that toughness is synonymous with a sparse and Spartan interior. We have changed that with the Patrol 3.0 GL, which now also features cruise control and a sun roof for the same price.”

The Patrol GL is powered by a 3 litre six-cylinder turbo-diesel 118kW/371Nm. It has a maximum tow-rating of 2.7 tons.

The engine delivers power to the rear wheels in 2WD mode and to all four in both low and high range 4WD mode. The 4x4 is equipped with heavy-duty springs, telescopic front and rear shocks for 240mm suspension travel and solid front and rear axles. The Patrol has a 135 litre fuel tank and vented brake discs (front and rear).

Both versions of the Patrol Station Wagon sport a rear-differential and auto locking hubs with the option of a manual override. The 3.0 TD Patrol is equipped with a five-speed manual with high and low-range transfer case.

The Nissan Patrol 3.0 TD GL 4x4 Station Wagon is available from R605 000. Service intervals are 15 000km.
