Pretoria -  Hayley Eagle is a powerhouse business woman who is running her own company with the support of Ford and the Automotive Industry Development Centre (AIDC).

Eagle is a new supplier to Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa’s Silverton Assembly plant. She was partnered with Sodecia an industrial corporation operating worldwide as a full-service supplier in chassis, powertrain, and body-in-white commodities.

'If men can do it...'

She says she established her own company, Jamsco Automotive Assemblies, about six years ago.

Eagle says: "The company’s name is derived from the first names of my daughter Jamie and son Scott.”

Five years later Jamsco was then successful in tendering to provide Ford with assemblies, including the rear axle, front hub, struts and stabiliser bar assemblies.

One of the parts she also creates is the Z-bracket and Eagle says: "I am very proud of the Z-bracket as it's my claim to fame!"

"For a mother to say I am the provider in a male-dominated environment. If the men can do it, we can do it."

Eagle employs 45 people in her company.
